An adventure that Jazz drummer Billie Davies started about 6 months ago in Hollywood resulting in a wonderful Jazz release re-introducing you to some of the most wonderful Jazz clas

sics such as "Stella By Starlight" and "Afro Blue" and Original material such as "Downtown in the Rain" and "High Noon" and introducing you to Los Angeles Jazz musicians Tom Bone Ralls on Trombone, Oliver Steinberg on Bass, and Billie Davies on Drums.

I would describe this music as "contemporary modal with a romantic twist" or perhaps "neo-Cool Jazz". Very much like Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy & Jackie McLean but in 2012. Lyrical, good phrasing, nice rhythms but at the same time very approachable and listenable even for non jazz audiences. One could not better describe it then "Post-Cool Jazz".
